A girl standing in front of Costco.

Are you an avid Costco shopper? Or are you considering getting a membership? I want to share some of the BEST things to buy at Costco! Costco is a wholesale, membership-only retailer that sells products in bulk at discounted rates. It can be a great place to stock up on healthy food for your family, as well as to prepare for an event!

How to use Costco?

Personally, I use Costco to stock up on the essentials that I know we will use before they go bad. There is nothing worse than getting a good deal on something, only to have it go bad before you can use it all. Sit down and think about the products you regularly use (weekly or daily). We rarely get produce or anything else that would go bad in the next 2-4 weeks. Keep reading for what I recommend!

Meat

A cart at Costco with a lot of meat including chicken tenders, chicken breast, and ground turkey.

Meat is definitely one of the best things to buy at Costco. It is one of the main reasons we go! Our personal choice is chicken, ground beef, ground turkey, shrimp, and any other meat that is on sale. We try to get all of our meat for the next month or so from Costco because it is such a good deal! We also always get a rotisserie chicken, because who doesn’t want a $5 fully cooked chicken to eat for lunch over the next week. I would avoid the bacon though, as it seems to be pretty fatty.

Butter

Kerrygold butter at Costco. One of the best buys

We love Kerrygold butter at our house, and Costco’s price on it can’t be beat! Plus you know you will be able to use it up before you it goes bad! They also have pretty good deals on eggs which are located right next to the butter! We don’t eat enough eggs to make this worth it, but if you eat eggs every day this is a great place to get them!

Lemons

If you have been following my blog for awhile, you know I LOVE lemon water. I buy my lemons in bulk and batch juice them. That way I always have fresh lemon juice in the freezer.

Cooking oils

I tend to gravitate towards Avocado oil, but all of their cooking oils are a great deal! Getting bulk ingredients for baking (like cooking oil) is a great idea around the holidays!

Banza Pasta

Cart from Costco filled with meat, banza pasta, sparkling water, and more. Some of the best buys at Costco.

This isn’t always available at Costco, but when it is you better grab it!! One 8-ounce box of Banza pasta is usually $3-4. This is FIVE 8 ounce bags for EIGHT DOLLARS!! We use this to make my taco pasta recipe all the time. Check it out here! Items like specialty pasta are usually some of the best items to buy a Costco, but you have to look for them because they aren’t ALWAYS there!

Maple Syrup

I recently have started using maple syrup to sweeten a lot of things like my daily matcha. I love the price of this huge container of organic maple syrup.

Almond Milk

I LOVE getting their big 10-pack of shelf-stable almond milk. This way we always have almond milk on hand!

Sparkling Water

I don’t know where I was for 20+ years, but sparkling water is amazing!! Costco has some amazing deals on all different brands! The Kirkland brand is the best deal, followed closely behind by Spindrift. These are my two favorite brands. They also have La Croix, Polar, Perrier, San Pellegrino, and some other brands that I am less familiar with. If you are an avid sparkling water drinker, I highly suggest getting your’s at Costco.

Paper Products

Paper towels at Costco - one of the best buys at Costco.

Paper products are probably one of the best finds at Costco. From paper towels to toilet paper, and any other paper product you might need, Costco has you covered at a great price point!

Collagen

Do you drink collagen on a regular basis? Collagen is the most abundant protein found in your body, that gradually decreases in production as we age. It is pretty much tasteless, and dissolves into whatever drink you want! I either get the Thrive Market brand or Vital Proteins. They are the exact same price per ounce if you get the Vital Proteins at Costco, however, in the non-Costco world, they are definitely more expensive.

Coffee

Whether you use a Keurig, ground coffee, or whole coffee beans, Costco is a great place to buy your coffee. I am not a big coffee drinker, but my husband is and he loves their coffee. If you are a coffee drinker, odds are you have coffee every day, which means this is something you KNOW you will use! They have a good variety so that you can find exactly what matches your taste buds. My husband likes the Kirkland medium-roast ground coffee, but there are tons to choose from!

Other items

Green beans at Costco

Some other items that are great deals include spices, nuts, frozen fruit, and vitamins. I also frequently get spinach and green beans but you have to have a plan for these so they don’t go bad. We usually eat both of these throughout the next week and then put them in the freezer. I use the frozen spinach in smoothies and pasta, and the green beans I roast from frozen.
